Today on the way back from Ft. Lauderdale (Miami), I got to ride First Class. It was quite a surprise...I have ridden first class before, but never actually through a ticket we had purchased. Dad used to be an airline pilot so we always got free tickets, and still do. Only this time, Dad purchased me one just to be sure I would get home in time for summer school, which starts tomorrow (we had driven down Saturday). The family doesn't come back until Friday...and they are driving. Ahh, I feel sorry for them...sad I can't stay there and enjoy the rest of the fam vacation, but glad I won't have to drive back, and I had a great Saturday, Sunday, and Monday there anyhow. Saturday we went out to like the largest outlet mall I have ever seen in Ft. Lauderdale and went to dinner...Sunday we first of all, woke up super late which knocked out a few things we could have done for the day. But later that day, we took a ride on this boat through "Venice of America" and looked at a bunch of this really fancy houses on narrow canals- pretty cool that you could take a boat from house to house. There was even one that was from the show "Miami Vice," although I didn't take a picture of it. The rest of the pictures will be posted later...anyhow, later that night we went out to dinner again. Then Tuesday, we go to go SNORKELING!!! Let me tell you, that water is AMAZING!!! It was so clear. I can't wait till my brothers bring back the underwater camera I bought (which I bought right at the dock so it cost me a whopping $21- agggh, if I had only planned ahead of time!!) so we can have the pictures developed. It was so cool...I was scared of the fish at first...I know, I'm weird. :) But after awhile, I got used to it...sort of. I was still always on the lookout for Jaws. ANYHOW, what I started out this entry to say was, on the way back, this guy sat down next to me, and he was really really friendly. Not in a "hitting on you" sort of way, just a friendly guy sort of way- he talked to the other guy that sat next to him. Had a kinda weird name...Denson. Very cute...tan, blonde...tall...preppy...I almost think he's part of a frat because he goes to a college only 45 mins from where I live which is known for being a party school. Anyway, we hit it off pretty well...of course, I am quiet, but he was really outgoing and talked. We were both reading a book...I forgot what the name of his was, but his was about architecture (he was a grad student in Sports Mgmt). So ANYWAYS, he was all friendly...until he noticed what book I was reading. I was reading the lastest book in The Left Behind Series, The Glorious Appearing, and he mentioned his best friend read them...seemed to know a little about them, asked about Revelations and if it stuck to it...seemed pretty interested. Then all of a sudden, he shut up and didn't say much of anything else the rest of the plane ride, except to ask if I wore contacts (I do, but was wearing neither them nor my glasses atm) and tell me that his got stuck behind his eye that morning, goodbye, and nice to meet you. It was kinda weird...how he was all nice, and seemed interested almost in Christianity, but then all of a sudden, there was this...CHANGE...like he kinda snapped at me later when I made a comment about how small the city looked from a plane, saying, "yeah, umm hmm." My guess is all of a sudden he must've realized I was a Christian, not just a casual reader of the book, and that bothered him for some reason. Judging from how angry he acted all of a sudden, he hasn't had a very good experience with us...either that, God's been dealing with him, maybe calling him to Himself. Who knows...all I know is, I offered up a prayer for him, and hope sometime he'll turn to God.
